New home sales for October moved up over September with increases in both single and multi-section sales.

Multi-section sales remain elevated over single-section sales. Total sales were up over October of 2018 with an expansion in multi-section homes sold.

Single-section home sales were down from October of 2018.

The median age of a new home sold in October moved down slightly for single-section home sales and moved down substantially for multi-section sales compared to last month.

New home installations in Liberty County continued to expand and landed it as the top county for October installs.

Montgomery County bounced back with a big month and took the second spot, while Ector, Harris, and Travis were all down.

Annual Totals

The year to date gain for 2019 over 2018 moved up to +3.8%. With two months of sales data yet to come new home sales for the state are on pace to break 16,500 homes.
