Texas Manufactured Housing Sales in April 2019
April
Titles for new homes sold in April were pulled down from March by a decline in single-section home sales. Multi-section home sales were higher than the previous month and came in above single-section home sales as they have for every month in 2019 except March.
In comparison to 2018, April was up on account of an 18.2% increase in multi-section home sales.

Harris was again the top county in the state for new home installations and although new home sales in Ector County expanded, Montgomery County came in with one more new home installation as of report runtime.

Titles for used homes were way up, but 201 of those were due to a transfer of a community’s homes in Huffman, Texas.

Year-over-year growth for 2019 continues to decelerate, and single-section homes are now running below 2018 levels.

Harris passed Ector County for the top spot in the state for new home installations on the year, and the rest of the top five was unchanged from last month.

May Preliminary Data
The early data for May are showing declines from both April and May of 2018 (last year’s peak) for new home sales.
The summer of 2018 saw new home sales remain elevated through August, so we’ll see how 2019 fares in comparison.
