Texas Manufactured Home Shipments in May 2019

May

Manufactured home shipments expanded in May over the previous month with single-section homes moving up 15.8% over April. At 704 homes shipped, the growth in single-section home shipments was not enough to overtake the 748 multi-section homes shipped for the month, and was still -11.9% below single-section shipments for May of last year, but the expansion brought shipments to the highest total since October of 2018, and the lowest year-over-year difference for that same stretch of time.

Charts

The streak of multi-section home shipments beating single-section home shipments extends to six straight months.

Retail sales for March were saw over 100 more homes sold than were shipped, and April sales are on pace to beat shipments for that month as well, that’s a good sign for future shipment demand.
