Texas Manufactured Home Shipments in February 2019

February

Manufactured home shipments for February were down -5.9% from January and down -16.8% from February of 2018. There were declines in both single-section and multi-section shipments across both months of comparison, but the bulk of the year-over-year decline came from a -26.5% drop in single-section shipments. Jenny Hodge at MHI reported last year that 217 FEMA units were shipped to Texas in February of 2018, so the 2018 comparison is still reflecting the end of the FEMA shipment surge. Next month’s report should be more telling to how the residential consumer market is doing in comparison to last year.
