Texas Manufactured Home Shipments in August 2021
August Shipments
The raw total of August shipments moved up with the increase in production days over July to finish at 1,519 homes shipped to Texas retailers. After adjusting for the seasonal effect, the total homes shipped represented a -1.6% decrease in shipments over the previous month, but a 14.2% increase over August of last year.
Multi-section shipments continue to set series highs, while shipments of single-section homes are running below 2017 and 2018 levels.
The point forecast for September shipments is 1,442 (+/- 286), and the production index of the Texas Manufactured Housing Survey’s (TMHS) came in with a positive score of 37, which means a majority of the participating member manufacturers built more homes in September than they did in August.

August Production
Total manufactured home production for plants in the state remains at decade highs, with 2,060 new homes built in August. The production total represented a -1.5% seasonally adjusted decline from the previous month, but a 21.1% raw increase over August of 2020.
