Texas Manufactured Home Shipments in April 2022
April Shipments
Manufactured home shipments to Texas retailers expanded in April to their highest seasonally-adjusted total since before the 2008 financial crisis. April had fewer production days than March, but shipments moved up a seasonally adjusted 3.3%.
The raw total of shipments came in +115 homes above the forecast.
The product mix remained close to the 50% mark, with multi-section shipments beating single-section shipments for the second month in a row.
Compared to one year ago shipments were up a solid 12.4%, riding a large expansion in single-section deliveries. The year-over-year gains for both section types were even slightly understated as 2021 had an additional day of production.

April Production
Texas manufactured housing plant production maintained its elevated pace in April with the seasonally-adjusted total of homes ticking slightly higher than March’s series high. The total of 2,332 homes built for the month was +142 homes over the forecast.
The production share shipped out of state grew over last month, and the lack of product mix visibility into those units pulled the minimum floor number lower than would otherwise have been expected.
The increase in production was in line with the Texas Manufactured Housing Survey results from last month.
