May 2017 Shipment Report
After a slight slowdown in April, shipments appear to have heated up again in May with multi-section homes posting 30-plus percent gains over both April 2017 and May of 2016. Single-section shipments put up a solid 8% gain over the previous month and continue to out-pace last year by a considerable margin.
In comparison to the titling data shipments are showing large gains that are not reflected in placements. I suspect that this is still a result of an inventory strain from the back half of 2016 where titles outpaced shipments for five out of the last six months of the year. If titles didn’t pick up in May and June, (they didn’t in May which we’re a week away from releasing) then I would expect some softening in shipments to occur.
