March 2018 Reports and April Preliminary Data
New titles for March saw the Spring bump coming in 45.3% over February at 1,238 homes. There was a large 53.5% increase in single-section home sales and 36.5% more multi-section homes titled. Compared to the titles processed at this point a year ago March of 2018 was up 8.3% over March of 2017, with all the growth stemming from a 25.8% increase in multi-section titles.
Late revisions brought new titles for March of 2017 up to 1,403, so time will tell if March of this year will best that mark.
Ector County jumped into second within the top five counties for new installations on the month with a whopping 189.5% month-over-month gain in new home sales. Increased oil activity in the region and neighboring Midland being the hottest housing market in the US surely helped pushed sales. Ector is currently tracking in third place for new installations on the year.
The counties exhibiting the most year-over-year growth continue to be in the Permian oil play and in the Harvey rebuild regions. If you take a look at our Lenders Annual Titles Report you’ll see that the US Small Business Administration has become a top five lender in the state, as MH homeowners who lost their properties in the disaster get permanent recovery relief.
Used titles posted another strong month and did see another community title transfer.
The preliminary title data for April is tracking nicely and is currently showing 6% growth for April over March, and 30.5% growth for April over 2017.
