Retailers turned in a strong February and were up across the board for new titles over last month and February of last year for both single and multi-section homes. The preliminary data for March looks good as well with a slight decrease in single-section titles, but strong growth in multi-section homes over March of 2015. This trend was mostly matched by March shipments that had a larger dip in single-section homes but put in a solid 11.69% increase over multi-section shipments in March of 2015.
Looking at new installations per county, Harris while retaining it’s position at the top is down -11.92% YTD from this time last year. Ector which finished out 2015 with the fourth highest total has slid down to sixth with a -30.25% decrease over this time last year. Johnson County which was out of the top 10 for 2015 has moved up to seventh with an amazing +70.27% increase in new home installations YTD over 2015. Other big movers in the top ten include Bexar (+55.06%), Brazoria (+113.95%) and Hays which moved from 21st in 2014 to 10th in 2015, but is currently a whopping +307.14% up over last years tremendous pace.
