TMHA Sends Letters to Texas Congressional Delegation Requesting Support for H.R. 1779
TMHA has sent letters to the offices of Texas’ congressional delegation. All 36 Texas members have been asked to support and co-sponsor H.R. 1779, The Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act.
Every letter was customized to each of the 36 congressional districts to provide manufactured and affordable housing statistics of each district. This was done to better frame the potential impact full implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act will have on their constituents throughout Texas.
We have posted one of our letters as an example of the 36 we sent here.
TMHA and our members continue to reach out to our representatives in congress during the August recess to stress the importance of our pending legislation. We ask that if you haven’t yet made contact with your congressman that you take a few minutes to let them know why their support of HR 1779 is so critical to our industry’s future.
A phone call, letter or even something as simple as an email from you, their constituent, can go a long way in building support and demonstrating our grassroots efforts. All of the Texas members have websites with the ability to send them emails. Most require that you put in your zip code to prove you are a constituent. This outreach truly takes only minutes.
Our strategy is to focus our outreach and compress our Texas correspondence in a blitz of contact during this August recess. If we are successful, by the time our members of congress return to Washington in September they will have heard multiple times, from multiple constituents, and in a short amount of time about the importance of this legislation.
