Texas Early Voting Opens Oct. 20

Early voting opens for the November 4 election on Monday, October 20, 2014.  

In an effort to try and clear up some confusion due to recent court hearings, Texas’ voter ID requirements will be in effect for this election.  A recent court ruling and then overturning by the appellate court maintains the ID requirement for this year’s election.

The plaintiffs have said they will immediately appeal to the US Supreme Court, but until that happens and, if any, action is taken voters should prepare to take your IDs with you when you vote.

This year’s election includes major state wide offices such as the Governors and Lt. Governors’ races.  TMHA encourages all our members to participate in the democratic process and exercise your franchise to vote.

Following the election TMHA will update the membership on the new composition of the legislative body that will take office for the 2015 Texas Legislative Session.
