House Committee Assignments

On Wednesday, February 4, Texas Speaker of the House, Joe Straus, announced House committee assignments.  The complete committee assignments can be found on the House’s website.

Typically, the committees that are charged with manufactured and modular housing issues are as follows:

• Business & Industry – Landlord-tenant issues
• County Affairs – County regulatory authority
• Investments & Financial Services – Financing and state level lending regulations and agencies such as the Office of Consumer Credit Commission
• Licensing & Administrative Procedures – Occupational licensing issues and regulatory agencies like the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and  the Texas Department of Licensing Regulation
• Urban Affairs – City regulatory authority
