Congressman Conaway Meets with TMHA Members in Midland

I want to express my gratitude to the members at A-1 homes from Midland and Odessa. Ed Laseter, Miguel Sanchez, John Nichols, Dimas Avalos, Rosa Fuller and I met with Congressman Conaway at the A-1 location in Midland on May 13th. We were able to discuss the major set backs that the Dodd-Frank Act has caused for the industry. The Congressman was well aware of the major issues that the law creates and is working with other Republicans to see what can be done to help alleviate some of those issues.

We were able to show him a fine tape and textured Champion home from Burleson. His expressions on the quality were evident. He laughed as he talked about how this was nothing like his 12X60 he lived in while in school. Mr. Nichols knew the Congressman so this made for a pleasant visit. Ed stole the show as he explained to the Congressman why we needed his help and had a lot of data to back what was happening industry wide. As an association it's up to all of us to create a grass roots effort so that when our representatives hear of our plight they know our position. It's my goal to reach out to other congressmen in West Texas throughout the remanning year and will update the association as needed.
