Texas Supreme Court Extends Eviction Moratorium until May 18
The Texas Supreme Court extended for a second time the moratorium on evictions. Filings for eviction are allowed, but no eviction proceedings will be held until at least May 18.
The previous order set the deadline for April 30, but on Monday the Court pushed that date back an additional two-weeks.
The only exception to the eviction moratorium are when, “actions of the tenant, or the tenant’s household members or guests, have threatened or pose an imminent threat of (i) physical harm to the plaintiff, the plaintiff’s employees, or other tenants, or (ii) criminal activity.”
